Staking Apprentice
What You’ll Do
Depending on your experience level (Apprentice 3, 2, or 1), you’ll support the planning and
design of electrical service extensions, underground conduit systems, and lighting solutions for
our members and developers.
You’ll work directly with landowners, builders, and engineers to:
Staking Tech Apprentice 3
Assist members in selecting best electrical line route for power to home or business.
Prepare work orders for overhead and underground member line extensions and area
lighting.
Assist in the design and field staking of work orders.
Perform conduit inspections and underground locates as needed.
Perform all other job related duties as assigned by management.
Staking Tech Apprentice 2
All duties levels 3, additional duties include;
Utilize AutoCAD for the design of power and/or conduit layouts.
Design 3 phase overhead and underground line extensions.
Obtain right-of-way, easements, and permits from landowners and governmental
agencies.
Perform all other job related duties as assigned by management.
Staking Tech Apprentice 1
All duties levels 3 & 2, additional duties include;
Prepare work orders for overhead and underground member line extensions and area
lighting. With assistance
from Senior Staking Technician, prepare conduit plans for underground subdivisions and
design electrical systems for development. Stake fiber, prepare conduit plans for fiber.
Prepare Contribution in Aid to Construction (CIAC) estimates for line extensions.
Provide lighting designs that include photometric evaluations to developers.
Perform all other job related duties as assigned by management.

Level
Minimum Qualifications
Apprentice 3 High School Diploma or GED
Apprentice 2 High School Diploma + 1 year experience or Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering
or equivalent
Apprentice 1 High School Diploma + 2 years of experience or AA Degree + 1 year
experience or Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering
Preferred Experience:
Familiarity with electric utility distribution systems
AutoCAD or drafting software knowledge
Technical reading and interpretation skills
What We’re Looking For
Strong communication and technical skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Comfort working outdoors in various weather and terrain conditions
Proficiency in standard office/engineering software
Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs (with assistance)
Valid Georgia Driver’s License (or ability to obtain)
Willingness to work non-standard hours and overtime as needed
